No. A celebrant led ceremony is symbolic, beautiful and personal, but it is not legal or binding. UK based couples will need to have a legal marriage at a register office, before or after. If you do not wish to legalise your marriage at all, that is no problem, the celebrant ceremony will allow you to celebrate your love and partnership.
You have the creative freedom, it is your choice entirely. I am there to guide and advise but I want to hear your thoughts and ideas, I would like to say nothing is impossible.
My weddings start from £600.
Travel is included within 50 miles of my location in South Devon, outside of this I charge per milage.
To secure the booking I request a non-refundable 50% deposit.
After the initial enquiry we book in a meeting to run over key details of the wedding, you get to ask me questions, I will ask some back. If we are the right fit for one another, I will send you a booking form, contract of service and deposit. Once completed your date goes into my diary. 4 months prior to the big day I will send you a questionnaire to fill out on your love story and day. 3 months we will meet again to run through your answers and nail down exact details of the day. 1 month before your wedding day you will receive your final script giving us enough wiggle room to make any final adjustments.
Not usually. As a celebrant led ceremony is not legal/ binding, I do not include this within my services. However, it is your ceremony so if this is something you would like to include, we absolutely can and I will provide a certificate.
No. I can tailor a script and ceremony bespoke to your personality, beliefs, and love. You will have full control over the content and style including wording, stories, vows, rings, readings, rituals and music.
No. I always encourage my couples to write their own to add an extra personal element to the ceremony. I am however always on hand to support. Although this isn’t for everyone, so if you decide you want to use traditional recognised wedding vows or even have no vows at all, no problem.
Yes. Independent celebrants are inclusive, I will work with you to curate a ceremony that reflects you both as well as your traditions and beliefs. It can include whatever you want, be that a prayer, a symbolic act or equally no religion at all. We can also discuss rituals that suit you both such as handfasting, knot tying, candle lighting, tree planting or your own.
No. Purely because I want these to be personal to you and your day so feel it is best that you organise.
Yes. This is not a requirement, however if you would like a rehearsal I will be there. If you opt to not have one, I will ensure that you both feel as prepared as possible and will also arrive with plenty of time prior to the ceremony so can run through anything on the day.
No. A celebrant ceremony can take place in any venue/ space.
No. The average timing of a ceremony is around 25 minutes, but your ceremony can be as long or as short as you like. It is also very rare for me to perform more than one ceremony a day, so you will have my undivided time and attention.
No. As every venue’s acoustics are different and photographer and videographer needs differ, I ask that you liaise directly with them on sound.
Yes. We will meet several times before the ceremony. Initial meeting, the big meet and if you are planning a rehearsal, I can be there for this too. I like to meet in person but understand that this is not always possible so happy to arrange zooms as an alternative.
I cover all of Devon and Cornwall. I am based in South Devon and travel within a 30-mile radius is included within my price, anywhere outside of this there is an additional per milage charge.
Yes. You have absolute control, once I have sent the final version across you can make any amendments you see fit.
I am a colourful celebrant and like to wear bold and bright floaty attire. However, if you have a particular dress code, or colour theme I can be guided by you.
